Everyone knows you will need tools and possibly a tool box to keep organized, but here are some other key essentials that will help make your car repair easier.
GOOD LIGHTING Being able to see under the hood is important, and no matter how well lit your garage is, once you open the hood it blocks the light. I got this under hood light off Amazon, this was a game changer for me while working under the hood where the lighting was limited. EXTRA HANDS IN THOSE HARD TO REACH PLACES You will drop something! But don't worry, you can quickly recover it with a telescoping magnet or claw apparatus if you inadvertently drop a bolt or washer in the engine bay. LED lights are also embedded in the tips of some handy models like this one. WORK SPACE You are going to need somewhere to put all those parts you pull out, a good work surface is key, a simple folding table that you can pull out when needed has worked wonders for me. And I'm a 6'1" guy, so one that can go higher was even better. Also, you can label your parts with a paint pen as you pull them out so you know what order to put them back in. Having the right workspace is key to a successful car repair.
